About Rack and Return
A wine school in Barcelona.
We teach WSET qualifications in English and Spanish, in Barcelona and online, and our own short courses for everyday wine drinkers.
We are an independent wine school, approved by WSET to teach its qualifications. Every class is taught by an educator registered with WSET, at a venue registered with WSET.

Michael Salverda
Co-founder · winemaker, MWS Wines
WSET Diploma graduate and founder of Rack and Return. Michael makes his own wine under MWS Wines in the Massís del Garraf and works a second harvest in Stellenbosch every year. He teaches in English, and in Spanish when needed.

Alex Messianu
Winemaker · Bodega Alebrije
WSET Diploma graduate. Alex is a viticulturist and winemaker in Ribeira Sacra, with his own label, Bodega Alebrije. He has taught with us the longest, runs most of our online courses and can also teach in English.

Javier Iturrate
Wine dealer · Wine Merchant
Javier has just cleared the first stage of the Master of Wine, one of the toughest exams in wine, and is on the road to the title. By day a dealer in wines for Wine Merchant; in class, most often Levels 2 and 3.

Anna Casabona
Brand Ambassador · Juvé & Camps
Oenologist, sommelier and WSET Diploma graduate who has worked in wine all her life. Runner-up for best sommelier of Catalonia and in the top ten in Spain. Anna teaches Levels 2 and 3, in Spanish.

Head Sommelier · Mandarin Oriental Barcelona
WSET Level 3 graduate. As Head Sommelier at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, Alexandre brings the restaurant floor into the classroom: real lists, real guests, real choices. He teaches Levels 1 and 2.

Originally from Argentina, Fran has worked harvests around the world, from New Zealand to South Africa. Now brand ambassador for Grupo Raventós Codorníu and studying for the WSET Diploma in Bordeaux. He teaches Levels 1 and 2, in Spanish.

Mirela Adam, office manager. Without Mirela there would be no Rack and Return. She runs the back office: bookings, exam registrations, books and certificates, the accounts and your questions before and after the course. She is working through WSET Level 2 herself.

From home
Levels 1 and 2, with an online classroom, an educator and the exam online or in Barcelona.
At your venue
Private courses for companies at their premises, once we have registered the venue with WSET.
