This page explains what happens if you cancel, if we cancel, or if your plans change. All prices include IVA. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, or by bank transfer if the card cannot be used.
If you cancel
Email info@rackandreturn.com. The day we receive your email counts. We count working days in Spain (Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays in Barcelona) before the first class day.
| You tell us | What you get |
|---|---|
| 15 working days or more before the course | Refund, minus a €25 fee per person, or a transfer to another course |
| Between 15 and 10 working days before | A transfer to another course. No refund |
| Less than 10 working days before, or after the course has started | No refund and no transfer |
Moving to another course
You can transfer to another course up to 10 working days before the first class day (see the table above). In exceptional cases Michael decides otherwise: write to us and tell us what happened.
Online courses
Online courses are not refunded once booked, because you get access straight away. When you book, you ask for access to start straight away and you confirm, in the box you tick at checkout, that you then lose the 14-day right to cancel.
Missed sessions
If you miss a session, you can catch up on another date for €50 per missed session.
The 14-day right to cancel
Spanish consumer law gives you 14 days to change your mind about many online purchases. It does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date or period, which is how we treat a course with fixed dates. That is why the table above applies instead of the 14-day rule.
Gift vouchers have their own rules: see the gift voucher terms.
If we cancel or change a course
- Not enough students. A course runs only when enough students have booked: at least 8 for Level 1 and at least 6 for Levels 2 and 3. If a date does not reach the minimum, we email you at least 14 days before the first class day and offer the nearest confirmed date or a full refund. You choose. We refund within 14 days.
- A new teacher or venue. If we change the teacher or the venue, you keep your place. If the change does not suit you, you can ask for a free move or a full refund. See our Terms.
- Other costs. We are not responsible for costs such as travel or hotels if a course is cancelled.
Instalments
If you cancel while paying in instalments, we work out any refund on what you have paid, using the rules above: if you cancel in time, you get back what you paid, minus the €25 fee per person. Any payment not yet due is cancelled. If a late payment means we release your place, what you have paid is treated in the same way. See Instalment terms.
Instalment terms
- You pay the first part when you book. That payment confirms your place.
- The last payment is due 21 days before a Level 2 course, and 30 days before a Level 3 course.
- We email you a payment link five days before each payment is due. You can also pay earlier with the link in your confirmation email.
- No interest. A payment that is 4 days late gets a €25 late fee.
- If a payment is 4 days late, we add a €25 late fee to it. You get reminders the day after the due date and again when the fee is added.
- If the last payment has not arrived 7 days before the course, we may give your place to someone else. What you have paid is then dealt with under the rules above, as a cancellation by you.
Group bookings
When 2 to 7 people book places together, the group discount depends on the number of places. If one person cancels, the others keep their places and move to the price for the new number of places. The cancelled place follows the table above.
Example: three people book Level 2 at €814 each (€2,442). One cancels more than 15 working days before the course. The other two move to €840 each (€1,680). The person who paid is refunded €762 minus the €25 fee, which is €737.
Private and company courses follow the written quote.
Packs
A pack gives a saving when you book more than one level. If you do not take a later level, we refund it at its single price minus the pack saving. You must ask before the 18 months to take it run out.
Example: the pack of Level 1 and Level 2 in the classroom costs €1,071 instead of €1,165, a saving of €94. You take Level 1 and not Level 2. We refund €885 minus €94, which is €791.
Exams and resits
The exam fee is in the course price. An online exam costs €50 extra (English only). You pay a resit fee only if you do not pass or you cancel the exam. Resit fees include the €50 admin fee: Level 1 €95 classroom / €150 online; Level 2 €145 classroom / €195 online; Level 3 tasting €65, theory €165, both €230. A student who passes the tasting retakes only the theory, and the reverse.
